How have you achieved that community of followers on Instagram?
I would say that due to effort, perseverance, team and clear objectives. It must be said that when I was tattooing another style, my community (in terms of Instagram followers) was small but constantly growing, I was happy with what I had, but now it is the same only bigger, and I consider that it is due to the factor ¨anime¨ , since it is currently a very viral topic and is widely consumed, therefore, it is in high demand.
Although anime has a strong community and has made it a lot easier for my account to grow, it has been important to have a team around me helping me. In the studio where I work (Detintayhueso) we have a team focused on marketing, communication and content, we have managed to run campaigns that have reached almost 200,000 visits to my profile in one day.
Other tips that have helped me have been maintaining an aesthetic in your account, consistency with your posts, giving more visibility to your projects, responding to messages or commenting helps a lot so that your audience sees you as a reference or simply enjoys it more. your content.
What are your favorite tattoo materials and how do they help you achieve your style?
My favorite materials are always the best quality ones since it is important to have the best in machines , power supplies , tracing paper , needles , cream , etc.It is important to make sure that the needles are not blunt, that the ink is not expired or that the tracing is not erased in the middle of the session; So I especially try to see all that by asking other colleagues in the trade about its durability, finish, ergonomics, price and quality. This is how we compare already tested products and make real evaluations of each product.
My favorite products from Tattoo Stocks are the Pepax cartridge needles , the Proton Stencil , and the thermocopier paper . These three products combine perfectly; The paper is very good, it sticks perfectly, it holds up a lot and is very flexible, so if I apply the Proton Stencil it stays perfectly stuck, without watering down or erasing, it resists until the end of the tattoo; and then I start tattooing with the Pepax cartridge needles, which are the ones I use for all types of lines, especially fine and precise lines.
How did you find your style?
Well, my current style would be defined as manga/anime and to get here have required many changes in my way of thinking and, above all, a lot of practice.Since I started tattooing I have been worse at lines than shadows, and on the other hand anime/manga didn't catch my attention at all. After doing many styles of tattoos over the years and perfecting my line, I began to give more importance to linear tattoos with many details.
I started watching anime about 4 years ago, and the pandemic arrived, the confinement, locked at home for almost 50 days; That's where I got fully into the world of anime/manga and decided to return to the studio with a different style; I practiced the style a lot at home, I practiced the technique and prepared designs until I achieved something similar to what mangakas do and little by little, when I returned to work I realized that I was doing that style, yes, with a previous growth of errors. , prejudices and comfort.
I consider that it is good to try different styles, and maybe this is not the last one but it is the current one, I am very happy with how I am valued and for everything I am achieving thanks to anime.
What do you think of social networks in the tattoo field?
I think they are currently at a very advantageous level for both parties, but we have to be careful. Thanks to networks, our jobs, projects or personal life can go around the world and reach the right person, in the field of tattooing, it is no longer a " word of mouth ", [...] today, thanks to Social networks meet people from other cities and you can travel, contact studios to move around and discover new techniques, collaborate with certain brands, and learn about very good products or services.
But like everything, it has its negative side, and that's when Instagram becomes an obsession. [...] It all depends on how you know how to manage these situations and find a solution to the problem, in this case I consider that Instagram's algorithms are constantly changing and sometimes benefit some and others, so it is easier to support yourself a team that is dedicated to it to maintain the pace that this social network sets for us.
What long-term plans do you have for your tattoo career?
Well at the moment that is something I keep thinking about, today I am achieving my goals and I try to create new ones every day, but in the long term it is difficult for me to think more.At the moment I prefer to polish well the idea of what my projects will be and once I have clear objectives, give my best.
